As many of you know, this summer, TambraPlace secured a $284,000 interest-free loan to build a new transitional home for young women and men of Moore County.

So far, we have made $25,253.00 from the Gala. That means we are 11.2% closer to our goal of paying back that loan.

Let's keep going!

More information on the building LOAN:

TambraPlace, Moore County’s transitional home for young women and young men, recently received a $284,000 zero-percent loan from the NC Housing Finance Agency to begin construction of a new home for young women in our community who have aged out of foster care who would otherwise be homeless. Over the past seven+ years, TambraPlace has directly served over twenty youth, providing them with free room and board, much-needed community assistance, and support through inter-agency vocational rehabilitation, mentoring, financial assistance, and other services. TambraPlace has also served 45 other area youth with outreach support services with social services referrals, helping with college fees, dorm fees and technology, school fees at Moore County area high schools, and groceries.

TambraPlace currently operates two youth transitional homes, one for young men and another for young women, and needs community support to build the new home for young women on our West End property. The new build will replace our existing, older facility, our young women’s home, and we will convert the old home to our Crisis Center, which will have offices for the organization’s work, as well as two rooms to provide emergency short-term stays.

TambraPlace could not operate without the generous sponsorships and donations of area corporations, businesses, places of worship, and private donors, and our organization is profoundly grateful to everyone who has contributed both time, money, and goods over the years.

Building Committee Update:

Our building committee is currently in talks with a local builder regarding finalizing plans for the construction of this new home, which we are naming ChristineHaven. We are naming the new home after Dr. Christine Ganis, founding board member and tireless volunteer and advocate for TambraPlace.

What is TambraPlace?

Objectives:

The TambraPlace Young Women's and Young Men’s Transitional Homes of Moore County, NC, is a residential program that supports and meets the needs of Young Women and Young Men, ages 18-24. We provide a safe, nurturing and empowering environment to serve youth who are:

• At-Risk For Failing Without Intervention

• Facing Homelessness

• Transitioning From Child Welfare Services

• Potential Abuse Victims

Goals:

The goal of the TambraPlace program is to help prevent a lifetime of dependence on the state with a cost-effective, short-term investment in independent living which challenges participants to grow emotionally, spiritually, socially and financially in ways they often have not considered. Our overarching service strategy is to provide educational support and therapeutic services in a home setting while providing an environment that fosters social skills and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) in order to be successful.

TambraPlace serves young women and young men with currently two homes and a third on the way, working to cure the recidivism of homelessness by helping youth who have aged out of foster care.

Donate to the TambraPlace Foundations Direct Payment Assistance Fund: This fund is crucial in providing immediate financial support to those in urgent need within our community.

How You Can Make a Difference:

Make a Financial Donation: Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant impact. Your generosity helps us provide essential support quickly and efficiently. If you donate by check or online and want to make sure you donations go towards the new build, please note “1925 Gala” or “New Home” in the notes section.

Share Our Mission: Help us spread the word about the importance of this fund. The more people who know about our cause, the more support we can gather.

Serve on our Board and volunteer: We need new folks willing to help take on the responsibility of directing and serving TambraPlace. Specifically, we could use help in the areas of law, policy, fundraising, and building planning. We are building a new girls’ home in 2026. It’s an exciting time at TambraPlace, and we need more committed area volunteers to make it happen. If you are interested in serving, please contact us here: ywthmoore@gmail.com

Thank you from all of us at TambraPlace, and we hope you have a lovely Autumn and a beautiful Thanksgiving!
